About Class Project: Tribute to Rene Magritte

This is the last of the images in this series and probably took the longest time to set up. Trying to find interesting or unusual places to put my "Magritte man," I liked the interesting reflections from a granite counter top which also showed the cross-work beams in the family room and lent an almost Escheresque feeling to this already surreal image.
Comments are always welcomed.
~ Warm regards, Rocky

Thanks very much, Gayle. I'm a big fan of surreal art. I've been thinking of taking-on some Dali tribute too. Melting clocks and floating eggs et al. It could be fun. Thanks for the peek. ~ Warm regards, Rocky

Looks like "The Fly" has it:

See you around.

LOL! Wasn't that line from "The Fly?" LOL! I can't wait to see what you do when you get one. All the best to you James. ~ Warm regards, Rocky

Yeah, that could take a while. But I always aim for the stars. Cheers.

Oh, about my getting a dSLR... be afraid; be very afraid [insert spooky music].

I am astounded at this comment, James. I automatically assumed you were using a dSLR for your very creative abstracts. Now I am DOUBLY impressed. God help us all to keep up when you get a dSLR!

Bare in mind that this particular lens is VERY pricey. For me it was nearly half the cost of my camera itself. In hindsight though, I'd say it was well worth the cost ($1000).

Take a look at the images taken with this lens here at UseFilm. The number of incredible images and awards are truly amazing. The lens itself has won editor and publisher awards as well. Of course, "good photography" is what happens BEHIND the lens, not necessarily in front of it, right? However, there's nothing quite like a great tool to make your job easier. Cheers! ~ Warm regards, Rocky

I can hardly wait to get a dSLR so I can really get busy again. I'll keep that lens in mind.

Thanks very much, James. I do like the look of the 12-24mm lens. It really draws you into an image.
