Our holiday to the islands of Orkney off the north coast of Scotland didn't offer many photo opportunities due to rain, flat light and strong winds but on this evening I watched the rains clear and then the light broke through the clouds. Grabbing my bicycle I loaded my camera gear and sped down to the shore to capture this image. I need four stops of soft ND grad filters to keep the highlights in the sky whilst still recording the dimly lit foreground and an 81C warm-up filter to counter to strong blue hues that the new Velvia 100 takes on in low light.
