She seems to be saying:"That is far enough, this is my forest."
Such a nice photo.

Nacho-- I am so glad you like this photo. Some thought I should have published it without effect but I do like it this way.

Lara-- thanks so much for commenting; seems like about half of those that commented like the photo without the effect. I like it, as you do and will keep it in my arsenal for future use. I have switched to Photoshop since this picture was posted and I will need find the equiv. effect when I get a chance.
--Regards, Jan

Thanks, Joe. Weirdly enough, he may be right but..... I gotta figure out what all these effects do and this one seemed to fit the bill and enhance the picture. By the way, just switched from Photo Impact to Photoshop and have to say it is pretty overwhelming. Will keep me off the streets for a while.

Thanks for the comments, Brenda. I more recently posted the same doe, different pose without any postwork as she looked through our dining room window. I do agree, the approach here was not a success.

Little bit too much postwork here for my liking. The original is much better imo. Looking forward to seeing more deer, wish we had em here like that! :)

Marlyce-- Agreed; the concensus is that for me it is best not to mess with Mother Nature. Did I mention that my backyard is where my bassett, Zoe, spends her time relieving herself? :)
Make sure your sleeping back is water proof.

Jan, the photo attachment you had is beautiful. Although some will like the painted effect, I feel you did not do justice to this beautiful creature. Since she is a regular visitor I am sure you will be able to get more stunning photos of her and maybe her fawn.....and I am moving to your backyard.

You are very lucky, to have these critters come to you! I use photo impact 10, You might try using the highlight/shadow tool I find in brings out colors well.

Thanks, Trish. You are confirming the feedback I got from Frank. When I get a chance I will go back to original and enhance the color and see how it looks. Better not to fool too much with Nature.!

Good question, Frank. I am not sure myself, but the straight photo looked really bland. Attached is small copy of the original. I liked the painting effect and it seemed to enhance the foliage and the framing.
Thanks for your comment - you raise an excelelnt question.

Why have you turned this into a painting?
Wouldn't it have been better if you had left it untouched?
