About
Unusual growth for a gum tree, as they have a central tap root, whereas this appears to be attached to the ground by the perimeter roots...Seems HAPPY enough !
Thank You for all of the information JD ..I really am interested and do care about it all. I would love to visit Down Under and I would love to look you up as a guide ! That would be the most fun ...a photography trip !
Thank you very much... bummer can't see this strange tree too well... it's just a small thumbnail that won't en-large ..grrrr! It does look very Big to be growing in a sandy river bank ! Thanks again , Best Wishes, Michele~
No, they don't, but GUM TREES are very EXPOLOSIVE in a Bush Fire. They have a sap that is gives off a enormous amount of heat, to the point of creating a FIREBALL. This little fellar pictured is in a protected area, but some IDIOT will deface it one day, no doubt. Attached is one of my favourite trees..NOT because of its glamour, but the twisted shape, its color and the fact it is growing in a totally sandy RIVER BED in the extreme outback of NSW. Harsh country there. If you ever get to go Down Under, look me up, because I'm looking for an excuse to revisit and take some pics of the wonderful scenery and sunsets... Thank you Michele, for your comment and input. Kind Regards JD
It's a beautiful tree and looks great for climbing... is this alright ? I ask because it does look like possibly a 'plaque' of some kind on the ground of the left front side?
Very nice shot, crisp, clear, colorful with great composition. ok for the dumbo question...( this is hard) >>> do they make gum out of this tree ?
