An awesome floral macro study Joggie you have captured tremendous detail in perfect clarity. The colours are beautiful. I particularly love the diagonal line to the composure and the evidence of the bees disturbing the pollen. Well done to you for a stunning composition. Very best wishes.....Ray

good use of the light and dof. I dp find the yellow pollen stains distracting to a point but still nice overall

An absolute beauty, Joggie. Great balance between front lighting on the stamens and back lighting through the petals. Skilled use of reflector. Composition impeccable. Anson

Thanks for your comment Hassan - I prefer to differ from you on the sharpness of the photo though. I uploaded a similar shot "Fertility" a few weeks ago using the same lens setup, the main difference was in the lighting (ringflash)shutter speed (1/60sec) and f/stop (32). With that shot I went for max detail and clarity, showing almost every part of the flower in sharp detail. If you look at this photo closely you will notice that it is indeed sharp but in a limited way. I used sunlight filtered through the petals of the flower, creating a soft glow. Furthermore I intentionally opted for a low f/stop (5.6) to limit the DoF and to enhance the softness of the lily which I wanted to portray. The sharpness and detail is there but in a limited sense focussing on the pollen sacs as the main subject. Kind regards. Joggie
