Kerry -- I never thought about Raw Materials but now that you mention it........
It does not get more raw than this. :)

Another one that made me look. Not so sure this was a good one or not before breakfast...Made me laugh though. And I agree nice texture and good color and framing and although I am no expert on the subject but looks like some pretty good "Raw Materials" ...LOL...Kerry

Darn! No one takes my Turd seriously. It is a new art form called "Roughage Art".

You have discovered the secret of the Acorns on Turd visual imagery- the eye wanders to avoid the turd; you always wind up back at the acorns. Of course some viewers are fascinated by the turd and never notice the acorn. Magic!
Zoe, the basset artist in question, did installation art all over our backyard. She was most meticulous picking the right spots but alas, the acorns just fell where they may. Since this posting Zoe has passed on to basset heaven and we miss her and her artwork so much. She was a good girl and loved by all the family.
Thanks so much for viewing the photo.
--Best regards, Jan

There's a lovely sense of movement through this shot Jan, the eye travels lightly from the yellow acorn, along the turd to the top acorn, and then back around. I don't think you could have asked for a better placing by your bassett! Between the two of you, you have created a masterpiece....I'm just glad I don't have to clean it up :)

Davide-- I am lucky! I have a wonderful family and have been married for 39 years and have a job that I like. Add to that that I survived two combat tours, I think I am a super lucky guy.
Hope life for you goes as well or better.

Shelby-- You have not offended me; in fact I appreciate your honesty. Many folks only comment on pictures they like and that sometimes leaves us with no real feedback. This photo received mixed reactions if you look at the comments since I posted it. I did pick the subject and do the post mostly as humor even though I thought it had visual merit.
So--- anytime you see my pictures give me honest feedback; I can take it. I am happy that you took the time to view and comment.

Snacking...ROFL...My mind is at rest knowing that the smudges are unique to the acorn! :)

Sandra-- thanks so much for viewing and commenting on the turd shot. I hope you weren't snacking while viewing:)
The smudges on the acorn are actually natural color smudges and not the "other stuff".

LOL..after your invaluable comments I came here to look at your portfolio and chanced upon this photo....I still can't stop laughing at the title!! You took a photo of poo!!!
Hilarious. Do acorns come in these natural colours with smudges on them?

Great Photo I would hope to not have a MF lens taking that one as the time spent taking the photo would be longer..

Patrick-- thanks for your kind words and encouragement. Not sure about the beauty part but what is, is-- and generally everything around us should be noted, both natural and artificial.

Subject matter aside-- nice shot. Much more interesting that the acorns are different colors. Typical turd color ;)) I see some hair in it on the upper left side... adds to the texture a bit....damn, who'd a thunk I'd be critiquiing a poop picture! Too much looking at my own dogs' poop how it is.... good going out on a limb for this.

Robin-- I am glad you have enjoyed this study of the textural juxtipostion of Basset Hound turd and Fall acorns. Of course, no humor was intended but rather an attempt at a serious study of my dog's Patterns in Nature as they relate to the environs of our back yard. These filed studies occur on a regular basis here.
--Yours in nature, Jan

Take care...Robin
