It has really been peaceful, Mary, as almost any morning in this city. The sun goes up and the world seems to be staning still for taking a look at it. It as this peace I wanted to have on film and so i decided to let it be very dark in the most parts, for letting the sun shine in even greater contrast to the rest. This and the pole as "depth reference" were the main ingredients, I think.

Indeed, I wanted to have it as a "depth reference" or else the photo would be rather "flat", since there would be no hint about the distance to the mountains over there.

Beautiful - light being spread in the darkness. I like the pole on the left adding a sense of depth to the image.
