Thank you Ray for the birthday wish....how did you know? Per Doctor's orders I may be spending a little more time with UF than I have for the last few months. I have missed everyone

.............HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARNY.................
Hope you get this greeting OK 'cos I hear from Doyle that you are both so busy these days. I too find it difficult to make sufficient UF time....heyho.
This is a shot that I missed in one of my now regular 'time outs' from UF. The cormorant is certainly enjoying it's moments of piece but ever watchful it missed facing you. Sublimely oblivious it feels perfectly safe on that well detailed chunk of rock it's found. Well done to you Marny and once again enjoy your 32nd birthday:) Hope to 'see' you real soon back on UF. My very best wishes to you as always....RayX;)

Wonderful to capture this bird on the lovely rock texture. And the colours give a lovely warm feel.

sorry Doyle I think I have to go with Brandt's Cormorant. The common loon is speckled on the back and this is not. Also I think the tail feathers more agree to the Brandt.

Very nice image Marlyce... I like these large rocky slates... of rock... the bird getting it's moment of peace is probably true, as it might take one to know one... Ha! I am just kidding . . .!!! Honestly it seems like you do have a very busy and productive life...so I mean only that just a few minutes alone..( 10 minutes right) does give us all peace .... if we just let it.
Best Wishes, Michele~

Hey . . . on checking I'm thinking one of two birds.
First - Brandt's Cormorant - (See http://identify.whatbird.com/obj/66/_/Brandts_Cormorant.aspx)
Second (and my first choice) - a common loon - (See http://identify.whatbird.com/mwg/_/01N010wr-OR02s012Is-OR/12/attrs.aspx for others)
See what you think.
Regards, D
