About
While only the first of many snow storms to come, the last of fall is smothered under a blanket of snow that these big plows even struggle with to keep the roads clear.
Dear Chris, I really like these last black and white images, they have typical documentary value, all are well composed and the atmosphere of winter and snow is great, really like it a lot these images are simple and that is so fine
You are cruel. As I am reading your post this moring the temperature outside is -21C and expected to drop below -30C this weekend. If the wind blows that can drive the wind chill below -40C. We have been battered by a series of storms off the Pacific that have produced intense winds (100kph) taking down large trees and knocking out power all over the place, and now in the last week heavy snowfalls. Christmas is here eary this year. I will try to capture some images for you to see our frozen landscape.....while rare, it does present some absolutely beautiful scenes under the right light. I love to walk at night in the snow as it absords all sound. When it is this cold it is actually easy to stay warm provided you wear the the right clothes as there is virtually no moisture in the air. Mind you we have to plug in our cars to block heaters so that the oil in the engines don't freeze solid :) So I hope you are enjoying your warm weather! I am clinging to the thought of our holiday in January to the Carribean. Don't stop trying your landscapes.....if you only knew how many I toss out you would understand! So enjoy your weather.......and this of us when you open your freezer! Chris
Chris, just stopping by to say hello.I thought this was an appropriate image to let you know I have just come back from a few days in the tropical rainforests of Far North Queensland, 35 degrees Centigrade, lounging by the pool, where the water was warmer than my skin!! Took heaps of shots but as usual my landscape skills are still underdeveloped, but I'm working on it. Found some mountains that I could really call mountains, but I'm darned if I could get them to look good on film! One day I'll have some shots to rival yours!! I hope it's in this lifetime. Hoping all's well in your neck of the woods. CC
