About Another shot from the concept I’ve been working on for the last three nights. Getting closer to the result I'm looking for, but still not quite there. First night was playing around with the settings. Second night there was great light but no waves. Tonight there were waves but no fire in the sky. Regard this as work in progress…

The rocks are on the beach in Tarifa. In the background is Morocco.

This was shot a little earlier than the previously uploaded image.

Hi John,

Whereas the next one is the most dramatic of the three, I think this one has the most to offer in terms of subtleties - the sky, the wet sand, dull in some places, reflective in others, but also the motion in the surf, and last but not least, the green hues of the weeds covering the rocks. Very nice indeed.

Cheers,

Hugo

I think this is much better, AJ-- the details are much more visible, and the water still has a soft bit of motion to it.

That's IT Doyle? I hope this is just the beginning... The various comments/abouts on this and the previously uploaded image give an indication of what I'm trying to achieve, and I'm not quite there yet. The problem is not just coordinating an appropriate ISO, aperture and shutter, but also the right light and sky coinciding with high tide on a windy day (but not TOO windy, or my tripod will blow over and anyway if it's really blowing I'll be out on the water...)

Too many variables to have got it perfect in just a couple of hundred shots, but thanks anyway! Hope to get the desired result before the salt water spray destroys my new toy.
