We are becoming regulars at the zoo too so it may be an option for us. this was taken down in the "Australian" section so the colour comes from the red dirt.

Very good close up shot. Tell you something funny. At first look when I saw your image in Recent screen,I thought it is akind of mouse. Then I was wondered from what kind !!!!!! then finally as soon as I got a look here.. huh, I realized how amazing this shot is.

Absolutely great pic! I used to have a family membership for the zoo, as my kids loved it there... One of the many things that I miss about Aus.
I love the composition, your choice to zoom in has paid off, as you haven't only captured nice detail, but some of your subjects "personality". You have a beautiful background blur going on as well.
