Which you manage to do very successfully, Anson! Most contemporary photographers seem to agree in one point despite their different ways and views. They all seem to consider the "old fashion" as one of the most fascinating things. To put it in the words of Andreas Gursky, even in the times of digital photography the feel of old fashioned film is still a non plus ultra for the photographers.
A very interesting hobby of your wife, and I wished we could see some of those oldies here in UF someday. Some of those old photos say so much more than pure photography technology of our days says - but this could also be my very personal impression.
Best wishes,
Nick

One of the goals I try for on some of my images, Nick, is exactly that, an "old fashioned" look, such as one used to see with hand tinted photos. My wife collects hand tinted B/W photos of Florida scenes from the 20s and 30s, so I have something to use a guide. Thanks again for the perceptive discussion. Anson

Your title complements and mirrors the content of your image, Anson! But not only this! This one has the qiality of colored image from the times when no color photography was available. It demonstrates the work of some photographer that sits in hours of dedicated work and colors the image in the impressions stored in mind. This way arts and nature cross the paths of each other in a very subtle way - the same way that we enjoy to see when some old colored B&W of times gone past presents us its identity on some special page of an old dusty photo album.
Best wishes,
Nick

But I have to comment here, too, because this shot is also very beautifully worked out! The light is both soft and warm, which gives the flowers more emotion. The delicate colour of the roses suits the mood!Excellent work! Regards, Gabriela

As you very well know, lighting makes all the difference. Will post pretty much this same bouquet but with totally different lighting. Regards. Anson

I like the light contrast, Anson. The dusk is overwhelming the roses but the last ray is still lightening there faces. What colors the flowers! Cheers.
