Thank you Jan. The Council is now doing a refurbishment on the park, I hope the young ones learn to love and protect the place in the same way we did when I was young!

Meg -- Such a beautiful place for you to grow in and have fond memories of this beauty and serenity. Good idea to mask the graffiti; that would certainly spoil the effect. Well done. --Best to you, Jan

Funny you should say that Nessa, many brides do have their wedding photos taken here. To the back of me is a lake and long views over Pendle Hill and the surounding countryside, it's quite lovely!

Thanks Joe. I fully agree with you about pulling back for a wider shot, that's the shot I would have preferred, but unfortunately in this town we have yobs and vandals who in this instance had sprayed graffiti on the walls and broken the windows....
It used to be a very beautiful and peaceful place… in my childhood!

As a CC image, I too am partial to photos of landscaped park grounds. They choose interesting trees, take care of them, and the lawns, etc. The blue sky really helps make this photo, against the then color if bare tree and the green. It's interesting. It appears peaceful, relaxing. An even better photo might be if you had pulled back for a wider shot. But this is very nice.

It's not often you see blue skies like this in Lancashire!
The composition is pleasing enough, but it seems to me the large central tree is the focal point of the image. That being the case I think a similar shot taken during the Autumn with coloured leaves may have more impact.
