Mmmm what a wild scenery, so appealing to me as I love the northern arctic regions very much. The fog/clouds make it looking very remote and mysterious.
Best wishes
Annemette

Hi Gregory,
I saw this last night. I also saw Tim's version. To tell you the truth, I prefer the one above slightly, over Tim's change. I think his might be just a bit too saturated for my tastes. I thought I would wait and see other people's views on this.
I think you nailed the scene beautifully!

I was looking at this one some more and since you have this in the crit page i am looking at it a little more closely.
The first thing i am thinking is that it has something in the composition that i like, yet i think that you could improve on the composition by cropping out some of the visual information that is not essential. I cropped some of the top and a little of the left hand side. As i think that the most important factor in this image is the water fall and the snow patch supported by the moody clouds. Once cropping some of the clouds there is a funneling effect more to the central area of your shot maintaining your impact more effectively. This goes the same for the left hand side being cropped a little as well. Then I just added a little more contrast to the central area to create a little more depth, again enhancing the mood just a little. Finally i lassoed the remaining cloud on top and saturated the yellows just a little to suggest the warmth of the sun almost coming through and also creating just that little bit more depth to help draw your eye in.
I am not sure if you think this is an improvement or not but i gave t a shot.
Also i know that my monitor(LCD) will read this image differently then yours will and it might look garish on yours while not on mine...nothing much can be done about that though.

Cheers,
Tim

Hey nice moody piece ... when did you get a chance to go up there? lucky dog! Man that granite country is steep. Makes it hard to hike around much.
