Glen Morriston, Highlands, Scotland. A little bit different from my purely landscape images of Scotland, though I feel that the Palamino horses are still very integral to this delightful winter scene. These two horses started off a fair way from me but within a few seconds they came over to see what I was doing. The backlighting was soft and sumptuous and the snow covering acted as a giant reflector bouncing back light into their beautiful chestnut coats. I love the steamy breath of the background horse just catching the sunlight adding further animation to this Christmas card winter image.
Pentax 67 II ,55-100 zoom,Fujichrome Velvia Image started off as a 6x7 but cropped to 35mm slide, more space being available around the horses. F8 at 1/125sec.
You are absolutely right Howie I put this cropped 6x7 image into a 35mm slide mount for the purposes of a slide show I was doing. You will be happy to know there is actually a lot more space around the horses when you take it out of this mount. I was just being lazy.
Two beautiful horses well exposed. I would say I find the compostion just a little tight and would have been tempted to leave just a little more room either side. Still, very good.
