About I find the coloring nice here but I think that I should try it with a narrower aperture for a greater DoF. Any comments would be verry appreciated.

No problem with your previous comment, Andre! It must have been myself and wishful thinking - in the sense of "come on, tell me that it is OK" where I should have known that you rather mean the opposite. ;-)

As a general rule of thumb (and at the same time admiting its exceptions) I would also say that more DoF (i.e. a narrower aperture) would have done good here. Perhaps the ice crystals do resemble buds a little bit now, but I can imagine what a visual joy they could have been if they would appear clear and sharp along the whole DoF.

Thank you for the clarification and the help to jump off the protecting vehicle of my own wishful thinking! :-)

Sorry Nick,
I didn't make myself clear. What I should have said is... I don't think the blurry parts of this image add anything valuable to the shot. Or there is no reason for the branches to be blurry in this case.
I think this image would be better if the whole image was in focus.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Hi Andre!

So, you don't mind the blurry parts? I had the impression that getting everything in focus would be better. But as you mention the "no real point to the blurred areas", and carrying in mind what Salvador said, I see that a bit differently now.

Many thanks and have a nice day!

Thanks a lot for the nice comment Salvador!!

I didn't realize that it look like buds, but now that you said that I can see that too. Thank you for telling!

Have a nice day,

Nick

Hi Nick,
I would say yes in this case to a narrower DOF.
There doesn't seem to be any real point to the blurred areas.
I really like that different shade of blue for the sky.

Nick, what a wonderful floral¡¡¡ This time with no "contradictio in adjecto".......because the ice looks like splendid flowers.
Congrats.
All the best¡¡¡
Salvador
