Thanks for the great ideas.
I went and looked through the shots that you referred me to! Those are amazing and the way you capture the shots really shows what you were describing to me. Next time I head down that way, i will definitely give it a try!

Hi Mike. You should try doing waterfalls during low light, slow the shutter speed down to less than 1/10 of a second to get a veiled effect on the water. Can look very nice. If you're interested, I have a few photos deeper into my portfolio where I tried this, and on the last or 2nd last page I have a few of a waterfall similar in scope to this one (actually the Detian Waterfall is quite a bit bigger I think).

Waterfalls do indeed make nice subjects. This is one I hadn't heard of before.

Take care ~ James

I will definitely be looking forward to those.
That shot from Utah was outside of Provo and it was the first actual use of the camera that my wife had.

Good luck and happy shooting!

Awesome!. I am so looking forward to it. One of my friends retired this last year and moved to Rockville, right at the entrance to Zion. You know I'll be posting those.

Thanks for the comment Joggie.
This was a difficult shot to decide how to crop.
I opted for this as you can see the actual dam that the water is flowing over.
I will post another view/crop of this tomorrow as I have 10-15 shots of these falls!

A lovely photo of beautiful place Mike - lovely point of view. I would suggest to crop out the top 10% to get rid of all the man-made structures which tends to draw my eye. Regards.
Joggie
