About This is another shot of the same owl I posted earlier, taken at Mud Lake Ottawa.
In this shot I blurred the bg so the owl stands out better.

Thanks Art, it was a tough shoot being high in the tree and with the shadows and light. The owl's natural camouflage blends in so well with the tree in the bg.
All the best,
Joe

Thanks very much Nicole for your detailed comments. I have been told that she is a he. :)))
A bachelor in fact, looking for a mate. At Mud Lake, where I took this shot, there has been a nesting pair of owls for years. This year no one has found a nesting pair. This guy has been hanging around there since last year. We all hope a female comes along.
All the best my friend,
Joe

Your obervation is very true, the owl's colours and patterns blend in with the background very well, that is why I blurred the bg so we could seen him better. I have been told she is a he. Thanks very much for your comments.
All the best,
Joe

It's a great shot Joe- This owl is really protected even with the BG dof--- his colors and patterns seemt to blend easily with the tree he stays in, and the light that sprinkles onto him... just an obsevation...Very well done my friend- 7/7

Best wishes,
Michele~
