About There is a very OLD, twisted and large oak tree a few blocks from my house that I've been wanting to photograph since I've lived here.
Driving back from the airport, I saw it now had a carpet of wildflowers beneath its spreading branches. It was time.

The air was thick with smells of first this flower and then that.
The grass was tall and unmolested, but for my footfalls, with each plant proudly hoisting its progeny high,
hoping to catch a gust of wind and fertile womb for its seed.
Even walking with care, the flowers playfully tagged me - yellow spots of pollen on my shoes and black pants.

The silence is occasionally jarred by the sound of my camera converting fleeting seconds to forever.
The Oak had seen this before and stretched out its roots beneath me and flowers and grass.
For a moment, we are all one.

Cloudy days are pretty good lighting for wildflowers, Wayne. Go get 'em!

Excellent! Paul!
I unfortunately diddnt have the privilage of all the beautiful wildflowers like you. I went at the first spot of spring when the bluebonnets were out. I took some shots of them too.
You did a great job here and I like your choice of DOF. Really well done!
I need to go shoot some of these little guys before they go away!
