I love the repetition of the arches, the eye is pleasantly lead into the picture, the shadows are suitably diffuse, there is one flaw, nothing you could have done, that is the square window bottom, not the little Diamond shaped one, which fits in OK. I think you deserve much credit for seeing this picture, well done - Richard.

Amazing how the gate seems to be so three dimensional, the way the shot doesn't quite flow through to the next gate breaks up the symmetry and adds to the effect.

you did a nice job framing this shot Carol. I like how the middle of the foreground gate lines up so well with the edge of the tunnel in the background and edge macthes the door on the left. There is also good pattern repetition with the arches.

Bob: Thanks for being the first person to comment on my very first contribution to this site! I remember the craftsman area to which you refer. This was not taken there, but was taken on one of the narrow side streets a few blocks away from the castle.

Pretty nice. The lighting didn't help you any, and you did a nice job. Whoever made that gate is pretty talented, too, because it looks three dimensional. Was this taken in that craftsman's area across from Kilkenny Castle?
