Nessa -- Thanks. I agree with you; this is not a place I would want to live even if I could afford it. Boating is not my forte nor would I give up all the space we have in the suburbs, well outside the city. I would like to live on a lake or by the sea but that is not likely to be in the cards for Nancy and me anytime soon. However, I do need to be able to get a good pastrami sandwich now and then. :) --Best to you, Jan

The boat itself speaks money ..not sure i could live this kind of life .. the money would be nice ..but give me a cottage in the country or a house by a lake .. and peace and quiet anyday..good detail and colour..nessa

Thanks, John. You are so right; this is a very expensive area to live but we can visit it for free!!!! I think visiting it and enjoying the views of the boats, people, and buildings is a much better deal. --Regards to you, Jan

hmmmm....well I don't know what I can select...a boat or a...building? :-D Excellent, impressive and rich photo, and that city area looks like hehehe....being only for billioners who can own these boats... for me...just I like that richness of the photo (not the richness of the needs...) the so many interesting things you present to us and mostly the great architecture of some buildings... , very good photo Jan... excellent rated... Best regards!

Phil -- Thanks for the comments! I truly appreciate them. Ironically, the grass, birds and trees started less than 20 feet from where I was standing (behind me). --Best to you, Jan

AJ -- HRC was there and then as far as I know it folded. It was a great location. I doubt Baltimore is too upmarket; I think there was just too much competition. I think it is an ESPN-Zone sports cafe/bar now. I'd have to research it to be sure. HRC was having some financial problems a while ago and they closed their less profitable sites. I believe the one in Las Vegas is still running strong. --Jan

I thought I'd spotted a guitar but figured I was hallucinating. There's a brand new HRC right in the middle of Warsaw - maybe that's where the new $$$$s are? Or maybe Baltimore is just too upmarket for the HRC now...

AJ -- PS -- The left-most smoke stack has a huge guitar mounted on it; it is where the Hard Rock Cafe used to be located. --Jan

Thanks, AJ... The grass, birds, and trees were right behind me from where I was taking the picture. If I turned 180 degrees and took a picture you would see a beautiful tree-lined walkway, a park, birds, a huge grassy hill and a distant view of Federal Hill. This area has plenty of natural green. I am shooting this picture across the harbor to the other side of the Baltimore Inner Harbor area. Baltimore City has many interesting buildings; the glass pyramidal structure is part of the National Aquarium. --Best to you, Jan

You mean people actually pay to live here? Where's the grass? Where are the trees? Where are the birds? Or am I missing something? ;)
AJ
PS. An interesting photo, though, in which you catch the intriguing shapes of the buildings, and the contrasting styles of life on the water and the "new industrialists".
