THanks a lot for the fine detailed explanation and gorgeous photo of a hornowl´s eyes. My mother once had an encounter with one at night that didn´t want to move away from the road nomatter what she did, so she drove almost off the road not to hit it:-) THank you again for your wonderful comment:-)

For the not-so-birding photogs like u and Patrick (he missed out a lot not following his birder parents): This is a Great horned owl which is often used as a a LURE for attracting yes predatorial (in birders' lingo, birds of prey) which hate the owls as invaders of their territory. Been to a few captures for banding migratory bird events of merlins and falcons. Yes coz i followed my wildlife enthusiast parents. In the background, it seems like a Peregrine Falcon in its bright summer plumage. I could be wrong! Anyhooooow, love this capture , "a pasion of mine, birds, esp that prey"!! Wonderful portfolio indeed!

A treat having birdwatcherparents! I mean out in nature eating seeds and crackers and then teaching you to fly! No seriously I would have loved that, but I guess it´s typical that the children never enjoys what the parents do*LOL*

Yes I do! And I get a free parrot as well! At least I think it's a parrot... I grew up with fanatical birdwatcher parents so I'm afraid I rebelled and didn't learn what I might have done. A wise old owl, dreaming of mice. :)
