I see Dave ....well that is a nice way to do it I guess ...Draw more attention to it --- I just may remove it BUTTTTTTTTT --- (no ) I mean EXCEPT for the fact of looking at my mistakes helps me not to repeat them !! LOL!!

I just finished out your equation in the title... CLIFFS + ROCKS + CAMERA = PHOTO.
No way in heck am I going to criticize your photos.... I don't want to end up in the same boat as some people we know... being rated as "abusive" LOL.
But I will say I like the color version better for this shot.
Dave

I don't think you need any more help with this one Michele :) You have some great advise from everyone here..it is different, and the effect is okay, but you are right when you say it loses something in the process..as a whole I love the cliffs and the setting though. I know, I am not any help at all, lol, sorry. Hugs Liz

That's cool, am not familiar with either of your programs, but am sure you will have a burn tool on them somewhere, so see if you can select that, adjust your brush size to a small one that will work to cover the figures, adjust your % to about 5% or there abouts (you can always go back over it again.....(just got your second comment LOL) and 'burn' the figures or crevices or whatever you want to darken a little.
I forgot to mention also that I used the clone stamp to take the harsh edge off the rock in the water....
I work in PS Elements 4...it is very basic (all we could afford at the time) but I find it very easy to use, and so far, it does what I need it to do. Maybe one day will upgrade to a more intense version, I want a better camera first, but for now.....
Hope to have helped some, enjoy your day, cheers, b

I'm going to put a bundle of images on DVD tonight and hopefully that will help until I can afford what I really need - I know Doyle has told me that if I can just use 'elements' it would be sooooo helpful so soon Beks, soon :))

WoW Beks...I am greatful for your help and in amazement of what YOU have done- I LOVE it !!!!! YOU did what I wanted to do .... Really you did :)) I appreciate it very much and can't 'Thank You ' enough for explaining it to me too. I don't know yet what burning the figures in means yet, but they sure look better...I mean I understand what it means but not how to do it ......Sheesh I can't even write , ha! Faking the tree tops is beautiful and I love the lighter frame- ( frames don't come natural to me))) I'd be the one who should leave them alone- but they can add so much when done right so I am trying but I like what you've done. A happy way to come home from work and find what you wanted - Such a pleasure to have YOU come by - Thank YOU again, Cheers, Michele~

Thank YOU dear Ahmed...YOU are soooo right about the massive rock out there .. . . . as You enter town you can see the top of the rock all the way to the beach ((which is at least 5-miles) totally winding around a small river . .... It is close to the beach as well and known to be a good fishing spot for everyone since the seagulls are always flying around it . I appreciate your thoughts on my PP as well and am happy you do like it in sepia :)) Thank YOU again . Regards, Michele~

Hey there Michele, am jumping on the bandwagon here and posting my 'play'.... I like the idea of what you were doing here, and I love the sepia tones and composition. I did slight adjustments to levels, curves and contrast (only slight), then burnt the figures in a little, also some of the cracks and crevices in the rocks to make them stand out more. I also sharpened the people and crevices for definition. Finally I extended the canvas to fake the tree tops with the clone stamp, as I like the sand you have at the bottom of the frame, and think that if you had cut it off, the balance would be lost. A lighter frame was also added. Hope you don't mind my intrusion to your vision, cheers, Beks

Those rocks that you show in the water are amazing. And they are massive! I guess a lot has been said about different tastes on the postprocessing. I like your idea here going with the sepia. I find sepia works very nicely. For the feel you have gone here, I think the light goes with it too. Nicely done, Michele! Regards, Ahmed

This is fantastic, you have people in the shot to give the rocks perspective, the only niggle I have is that its a bit too light, just a shade darker otherwise well done

Aah you´re at the restaurant, dear MIchele:-) I look forward seing these cliffs and the rock many times in the future:-)Being your friend I know that I can be honest and say that this one doesn´t work for me because of the strong sunlight and the sepiatones. I really liked the other one you posted from that place and I´m sure you´ll be experimenting a lot with photos from this place! Good to see that you have sunshine again which also mean that you can try and do sth. about the squirrels! Take care dear MIchele
