Hi Nick, I agree with Dirk: one in a million for most people. That means for me you are a master of timing and you reduced this by your observation skills and some clever anticipation on what was going to happen by a chance of e.g. one in a hundred.
For me you give me the proof that photography let us develop an extra sense that most people hardly use,

Thanks for your very generous and kind comments Cathy...the inspiration for this came from an earlier pic on my gallery where I saw the gulls come in and snapped them....I thought the sun as a backdrop was great so tried again throwing chips in the air....the challenge was the sun threw the focus out...throwing chips while looking through the viewfinder and keeping your balance .....as the bright sun you tended to become disorientated....I was pretty happy with this but want to have another attempt at a better one....many thanks... Unbelievable! The number of factors that had to come together to create this work of art is astounding. The sun is perfectly placed. The camera settings are spot on. Even the fact that it was the middle bird that "Got it", gives it wonderful symmetry.
Were you tossing food in the air,'cause I cannot image that you just pointed your camera skyward and were rewarded with this image.
I have really enjoyed what I have seen so far. Have not noted your work previously, but every image holds its own magic. Well done! CC
