This is a section of a beautiful purple blossom put out by a small bromyliad, which produces them at the edge of a flat paddle-like varigated leaf. I have a photo of that bromyliad and leaf posted yesterday under FLORALS. The small section was shot after that blossom matured over several weeks, and became very convoluted in its shape. The dark "eye like" center is simply the dark earth in the pot holding the plant. The blossom itself has a very interesting texture, therefore my interest in it. Thanks for the question, John.
