Aptly named! Strong fall colours, dramatic sky, compositional dynamics with diagonal lines separating foreground, middle and background for good depth. Lovely! Eb

Thanks Tim. I always used the tripod to take landscape shots during the sunrise or sunset. Now i mainly use the tripod with my 10-20 during sunset or sunrise. But again carrying the tripod sometime becomes problematic, specially when u r carrying that with your back pack on an airplane. An many a time the tripod dosent fit in my suitcase, so now I think VR will help me a lot , specially when im doing street photography. I have had many a photo damaged due to blur or camera shake at 300mm with my Sigma 70-300 APO. May ber that will change in a big way. Thanks for all the help.

Hi Debarshi, Sounds like a good plan. The 18-200mm VR is easy to use. Not much different then any other lens really other then the fact that you might just leave that heavy tripod behind. I don't carry a tripod mostly because it is easy to adjust the ISO to get a good shutter speed if necessary in low light situations and also the VR allows for a 3-4 stop improvement for any shot over a non VR lens. I don't even own a tripod .... but then that is my choice. Enjoy your new lens!

Dear Tim , I purchased the D80 based on your report if you remember, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the camera till now. I will be getting my 18-200 VR today, and im sure i will enjoy that to the fullest too. After I get the lens , i need some guidance on how to make full use of the VR. This is going to be my first VR lens, Like ou , I will also now have the 10*20 and 18-200 , that will cover the entire range of 10-200 for me. I also need to travel light now, As i suffer from Asthma , carrying heavy photo equipments are not always desirable. I use the D80 battery grip , and also carry my Manfrotto tripod with me , reduction of lenses will definitly help me.

Hi Debarshi, It is hard to say it depends on your needs. I find that for myself my 12-24mm and 18-200mm fills most of my needs for landscape and some zoomed portraits. The 70-300mm you have does not have the VR and the extra bit of magnification is not that much over the 200mm. For traveling the wide angle zoom combined with the 18-200mm zoom with VR capability is light transportable and covers a large range maintaining great quality. Also if you want to go much lighter just take the 18-200mm VR on its own, as it is a great general lens in my experience. Good luck in your decision. I don't think you would regret the change if you do so.
