Thanks Marcus. The zoo here, for the most part, is nicely set up with natural habitats . . . not cages but stone cliffs and water obstacles. This particular habitat, for example, is viewable through two fenced openings about two feet wide on each end and a central viewing window about four feet wide, reflective on the inside. This shot was made through the glass with a misdirected fill flash angled to avoid window glare (Speedlight SB800). Can't stand shooting any animal not looking comfortable or as they would in nature personally . . . makes me feel bad for the animal. This animal is seldom seen and this is the first time I have seen it. It has a large area not visible to the public where he apparently likes to hang out. The flash drew about 8 bystanders who had never seen it either and he romped around for about 10 minutes and then disappeared. Due to the limited viewing size, I took my shots and backed out. :)

Wow this is one beautiful animal, hey I knew it was an Ocelot LOL,, you captured him in fantastic fashion really does look like a safari scene, you must a better zoo, as to take photos here at SF zoo, is like shooting animals living in project housing LOL, but there working on it ..
