the composition is excellent...it appears as if your focus point might have been the dogs nose...the area just in front is sharp, yet from the bridge of his nose back it is soft...I think the image would work better had the nose and eyes been sharper

PS: I find the DOF is appropriate. The subject is the expression on the dog. I don't want details about the fence. IMHO

Rohan, this is a delightful image with commercial appeal (if you wanted that). I can see this being on a get well card or a retirement card (if the dog were older). But without that consideration, it's just a straight-out nice image. I really like it. Minor nitpick: I wish there were more detail in the left side eye. It's a bit dark
