It happens to be a very beautiful log and I wonder that it did not find its way in somebody's garden! One can see a lot of things in that log! Your presentation is also excellent! YT

Excellent shot, the details are amazing here Dave, plus the element of sadness... about the end of life... yea, always is strong to see something in that way...even a tree of course! Great image...powerfull!

I like this Dave. At first glance I wondered if it had been carved. I could almost make out various figures protruding but on second look I can see it is just natures art. I love simple photos of everyday things like this. Well composed and presented. Del.

Whether Flotsam or Jetsam, I don't know, but I find it a very well done image, Dave! Everything works the way it should, not too much and not too little. The lighting gives almost the impression that the log is meteoring in air and so the reflection on the water gets interesting in a strange way. I also find remerkable that there are enough details of the patterns and the texture on its surface, but also a bit of that kind of softer focus that enhances the wet look - like when wood gets flatter on its surfces because of humidity and water.
Also a very very still one. It conveys much of that kind of peace in isolation to me.
Best wishes,
Nick
