Oh yes, indeed, Andy! These trees, especially in winter, are some of my favorite subjects for all kind of contrasts and scenes. Some of the images of them get quite the look of an abstract sculpture. In summer they are less interesting but in winter they are very good objects.

I agree, Nick, that the contrast between the tree and the building is a great subject. When I first saw the tree I thought of all kinds of contrasts which the tree could be used in. I think the tree itself is interesting and has many possibilities. this shot is a great addition to your excellent portfolio. andy

With "isolated" you mean further focus separation to the background, or rather only the tree for itself? In case of the second, well, the very reason for the shot was exactly the contrast of the two patterns that you referred to.

interesting pattern with the contrast between the tree and the building. Too bad the tree wasn't elsewhere so it could be isolated. andy
