About "We will never never accept the Falkirk defeat".
"It all once happened but I tell you once more about this, a black page in history. Before that battle there were no clouds over Scotland."

Marching north in 1298, Edward sought avenge the English defeat at Stirling Bridge the year before. Badly outnumbered, Wallace conducted a scorched earth campaign and repeatedly retreated north with the goal of starving Edward's army. Upon reaching Edinburgh, Edward's situation was dire and he contemplated a retreat to England. Hoping to pursue the English as they retreated, Wallace advanced to Falkirk, approximately 13 miles from the English camps.

Upon hearing this, Edward opted to give battle. On July 22, the English advanced and attacked the Scottish position. As the English knights approached, Wallace's men assumed enclosed, defensive formations known as schiltrons, with their spears pointing outward. After attacks by his knights and infantry were beaten off by the Scots, Edward ordered his archers to open fire on the schiltrons. As the schiltrons were immobile, the arrows took a heavy toll. With the Scottish ranks thinned, Edwards launched another attack which drove the Scots from the field.

Nice portrait... that hut surely adds a lot here because it is very special and adds traditional mood... yea, Scotland 100%... I can imagine what else he wear... the face expression is some kind funny BUT that is ALSO into the "game" of the nice moment!

Come on Bilja, don't start crying. I cannot support crying girls. Look at my Scotsman and see also that he is not far from starting to cry as well, but he is a man of battle, a man who is not allowed to cry (he thinks) Even if the battle happened nearly 800 years ago. This man you might say is the perfect army man, not showing emotions. Believe me I'm different although I am in some sort of a battle every other day :-)

Hi dear Bila, thanks for sharing. So much is similar (in History) until focusing on the difference. Play with these all times :-)

Groeten, Peter

Hi Arif, thanks for clarification. I had a moment of semi-understanding, but even semi is real as the sunlight used for exposure of a sad and somewhat looking Scotsman was absolutely real. I also found your sun exposure today such fabulous, cheers Paul
