Thanks a lot for the further info about the shot and the people, Dave! Well, I know exactly what you mean by referring to the many people standing there, preventing you to move completely free. Even zooming much closer is many times not enough to leave other persons outside the frame.
So that was a Cree, and I am glad that I assumed that right. But I didn't know about "Ojibway"! So now I have a bit more information for finding out about those people and their history. Thanks a lot!

BTW Nick, most of these people are either Cree or Ojibway, which are "tribes", but scattered in various bands and reserves across the country. Dave.

Hi Nick, thanks for the comment! You're right about the position and composition in this shot. Unfortunately at this type of event I was restricted in my positioning without inconveniencing other spectators, and I was trying for about the only spot with a clear background, so this is the result. Dave.

Regarding contrast and details under that good light it is better than the previous one, Dave! But for composition/timing is is less powerful. When I concentrate on those unimaginable details on the red outfit it is very expressive, but taking the image as a whole under consideration, perhaps another timing was needed.
Stiil, great to see something as original as these clothes. BTW, what tribe? Cree? Is that a tribe at all, or rather some kind of "general naming"? I am very very interested for the perhaps less known people of the morthern parts of the american continent, but I can only find confusing and also self-contradictive info until now. Perhaps you know of any good books about their history and culture?
Nick
