About I have the impression that many things went wrong here. Most important to me seems to be overexposure but I am not sure if this is really the main problem here. I'd be glad to read some tips.

Trying to make the leave stand out a bit more, I simply burned the surface of the street. (Attachment) And it seems to me that you are right. The leave should really be more "important", which I guess means a better exposure and lighting balance.

bonjour Nick,

malgré l'ombre portée en haut de la photo, la lumière est bien distribuée... la couleur passe du plus sombre au plus éclaté.. ensuite le jaune est installé royalement sur le marron... pour moi (je suis un obsédé de la netteté ;-)
la feuille aurait pu émerger, se détacher un peu plus du fond... je ne sais pas comment...
mais finalement c'est une belle photo..
