About	Simply wanted to see if I could catch the flame going out. Didn't work, but I like the way she faded out into the background, and the candle is in focus. I should've tried without a flash as well.

Hi Suzanne,

If this candle was a glass of orange juice - and the wick a red and white striped straw - I would believe this to be as good as any top commercial photograph... magazine or fashion shot! Great work... really!

Suzanne this is a great idea. And yes...do it without flash. I too like the DOF but I think it would have been improved with a verticle format and lowering the candle just a little...so you aren't cutting off the models chin.

Try it again...and maybe get the model to blow very gently so the flame is quiverring almost ready to go out and see if you can catch that. Lots of things you can try with this shot using different lighting and angles. Have fun and play with it....*smile*...Maggie
