Indeed, Andre, the whites of the two objects are problematic to me too. The shell itself doesn't stand out as well, and that's a bot strange since the surface underneath it has quite a strong texture that should allow the shell to look more pronounced at that region. Or so I thought. The light was not as strong on that day. This makes it more probable that my exposure had to be lower.

I keep on trying many things with these shells. For some reason (until now) the B&W images are generally better than the color images. This is also not really understandable to me. For example the surface underneath the shell is actually the typical blueish-gray of concrete. The shell is white. So, the contrast should be greater on the color image which preserves the color of the concrete. But no, on B&W images the shells stands out (in general) much better. :-/ Nice stuff for studies I guess.

Hi again Nick,
I like the look of the roof in this one, but there is something about the blending of the whites in the shell with the whites of the textured surface that doesn't have so much appeal. For me at least. Perhaps the same scene taken at a different time of day would work better. Maybe the light is too direct in this one?
The composition is interesting though. It might be worth another try.
