Fruit is not easy to photograph and the lower one appears moved. Nonetheless the image has managed to make my mouth water.

Hi Kes,
No, my Son Jeff is the one kneeling down in the front row with the black helmet and face mask on. The goalie is standing off to the side with a white face mask. We actually all are required to play with helmets and face masks. I think this picture was taken right after the game was over and some of the players didn't even have time to get their helmets off for the photo.

You definitely don't want to be starting to learn to skate with a bad back. What you described sounds painful. Not too much I hope. Like you said, we have to be thankful for all the great things we have. Take care of yourself, relax a bit and make some images.

:)
Great shot of the "Ice Capades"! Your son was the goalie? I suppose that is the reason for the special mask....or maybe just smart to wear. It's great you have this photo memory of the two of you together on the team.

My father used to figure skate - - in a pair of old hockey skates and he made everything look so easy....I never got it, but a couple of my sisters picked it up. I was the youngest and the folks left Indiana for Colorado in 1970, and that ended the ice skating. There is ice in Colo, but it is usually covered in snow, and so not as much "free" skating opportunities.

I've been off work since last July with a lumbar extruded disk and torn medial meniscus. Not much luck so far with work comp doctors, but at any rate I'm not looking to try ice skating again. Ever! :)

The house is warm, we have a lot of food, the wife and kids are healthy. God has blessed us so much we would be foolish to place our trust elsewhere, and so the future looks bright.

May God's light shine upon you, Andre!

Hi Kes,
It's never too late to lace up the skates and try again. :) I wasn't born in Canada. But came here when I was 5 years old. Skating was one of my first memories of Canada. Very cliche, but true. When my first son was about 2 1/2, we put skates on him, put him on ice at a frozen pond, and away he went. :) There was no such thing as learning for him. Check out this image from a few years ago. I'm in the front row with the grey hair and the stick on my shoulder. My oldest son is in the front row with the black helmet and mask. The shot is from a company team tournament (very low level)

Andre, being able to skate, teeth or no, is quite an impressive ability. I still remember how fast the ice came up the last time I tried...oh, some 30 years ago. Ouch, still. :)

Being a Hockey player, I thought this might be a collection of teeth, after a fight. ;)
But, then I caught on. Pomegranates!!!
