The first thought that came to my mind when I looked at this was, the world IS round! I like the horizon in this pic. It doesn't always work to have a centered horizon, but I think it works here. One reason, for me, is that it's curved, and the other reason is that there are sort of two horizon lines - the sand line in the distance, and the water/sky line. The image plays with my mind: while my brain considers the water/sky horizon the true one, my eye is drawn more by the brighter strip of sand coming out of the water.
The sky is good and you did well to shoot this on a day with clouds in the sky. The new lenses will hopefully be able to accomodate various filters; the clouds would stand out even better in an image like this with a circular polariser. It's interesting how the long cloud on the right is almost a mirror image of the white wave breaking at the bottom right of the picture. The wave adds movement, as do those structures going into the water (what are they, what purpose do they serve? especially in the other pic, there's so many of them). The lower left corner feels a bit empty though. I'd consider playing with various crops off the left.
