Dear Linda, it is in the details. Small things make good, great. Also did like the back drop color in this. So good with her skin and dark cloths. Really frames that face and eyes!! Keep posting, this is fun to see!
Be well, stan

You and Stan are both very right. I can believe I did not see that. Get rid of the chair and it is a powerful portrait. Thanks so much for the critique.
Best Wishes,
Linda

Thank you very much for your critique. I cropped the chair out and wow what a difference it makes. My eyes are still very new at this and appreciate your comments. I will post again tonight. How could I have not seen that!
Best Wishes, Linda

Hi Linda,
This is a very attractive portrait that stands out as one to open up when we scan the recent thumbnails. The lighting, detail and colour are all very good. I also like the angle of the pose.

However, Stan does have a point about the back of the chair.
You might think it's a minor distraction, but to proove the point just scroll the image down so that you crop away everything just below the top of the chair. Now, your attention goes right to her eyes. To me anyway, the difference takes the image up another step.

Great eye to the lens and catch lights work very well. Angle is interesting. Powerful model and great skin!! Tones are great. 1/125 f5.6 is the mix for good portraits. Your 50mm is good for these. With a stool the chair back would disappear!! Posing stools are nice because of the ability to turn to and away from lighting quickly. Just a thought. Love your enthusiasm and results.
Be well, stan
