A dramatically beautifully shot Dave. The composition is excellent, both form and color, the detail also wonderful. You've captured an amazing place very, very well here. Good work. Regards. Tim

Thankyou, Kim. You know, I didn't even notice those lines until you pointed them out. I'll have to look at the original and see if they are there, maybe rescan the image. I don't recall doing any photoshop on the image, although possibly I may have used it to delete dust. The image would work best if the lower area were straight black.

Just read your "about" in your profile and had to laugh !!! There is no way that you are short on the creative side of things... your portfolio is brimming with images that explode with colour, composition and thought.
as for this image, I love the wall of mountain, climbing up out of the silhouette. Truly impressive from this vantage point and the detail in the mountainside is amazing. The trees are completely dwarfed at the bottom, lending a nice sense of scale to the shot. The blacks in the bottom though, have some odd colouring. It could just be my monitor, but they have some darker and lighter lines running through them.

Wow, impressive! And you managed to show it in an impressive way! I like the snow taken up by the wind... looks like haze..
