There was very little color in the original image, so a black and white version didn't have much to loose. Most of the images quality came from the delicate shadowing of the veins in the petals. The black and white version emphasizes this feature.
Hi Bob, You have captured the white tones of the flowers so well. I know it is difficult to photograph white flowers, it seems there is always some lost of the shades of white. This one is just beautiful (also in the colored version, maybe I prefer that). Thanks for your comment on my POTD. I don't know the name of this plant in english, but here is a picture of the whole plant. It is blooming right now with little yellow, almost green flowers. They look great in a bouquet.
