Intense, expressive and dramatic. Almost theatrical aspect of an ancient tragedy. Perfect!

Great portrait!
I like the high contrast and tones!
Don't like the black shadow? clothing? around is neck on the right, it's distracting.
Like the focus on the eye with a small dof.
Would like to see it bigger and with a better jpeg quality!

Non-Academic?... Um sure... it's kinda spooky... like you're gonna go kill someone... but it's got awesome shadows... and it's a very intense expression... good job!!

The Shadows are quite dramatic, even a bit too contrasty. That is the shadows are losing detail and the highlights are becoming blown out. I, personally, think the eye on the left should be completely in dark i.e. Split lighting or be completely shown. Technical stuff aside, I really like the treatment here. It does resemble an ancient noble greek god.
