Genau Volker!... in fact, you choose the right place to take a great photo, but i'm not sure about your security... by the way, i lived in Belem for years and must say that is one of the most exotical, sensual, and interessant cities from Brazil. "frightening atmosphere of latent violence": a quite agude observation.

@Marilia: Every country has its beautiful and his bad sides. One thing we noticed when visiting Belem was a
frightening atmosphere of latent violence. We were afraid of not just beeing robbed...
Later (in Algodoal) we met a dutch who is working in Belem and he told us that Belem is a really nice town to live in- if You know where to go. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to discover.

Good rain shot... the telephone pole has good contrast and the blue tint on the telephone booth is good. Gives the feeling of being there
