i like additional post adjustments, ;)
in your scanner program, there should be brightness and contrast adjustment. MIRA scan program has it. Adobe Photoshop has also options helping you deal with that. Actually when scanning, you may adjust scanner to show your pictures in Adobe format, ready for immediate adjustments (then just save as jpg).

Michael,

To make images sharper use the unsharp mask filter in your image editing software. If you don't have it then just use the sharpening tool.

Thnx for the comments...the real photo is a lot sharper I lost some of the sharpness through scanning it and then saving it as jpeg in paintshop...if you know how to avoid this any help would be grateful

Nice capture, I like the use of the fence slats for a frame, and the leaves behind the cat, but it over all seems out of focus
