Cute little girl! Looks like she doesn't have a problem with shyness! One thing that I think would make her stand out a bit more would be if the background wasn't in focus. I'm not sure how the Coolpix 2500 works but if you can change the aperture setting to f5.6 or so it should throw the background out of focus, making it compliment the girl, instead of detract from her.
As well, it looks like something was in front of the lens in the top left... got watch for all these little things! *grin*
