Kim, thanks for your comment. It actually is a pretty heavy crop, i've included the original image with this message. You are right about the crop, some more of the flower should be included.

Keep trying with the bee. instead of trying to get it to fill the frame, why not shoot the complete flower and crop a lot off?

Now I am jealous. I've been trying for the past couple of rolls to get a clean image of a bee... and you've achieved it here and it looks so good! Nice DOF, with the blurred background and great focus on the bee! My only suggestion is to maybe place the bee off centre a bit with a tiny bit more of a crop.
