A really interesting and original kind of butterfly shot! I think it's lovely, and so sharp and detailed! I like your choice of DOF! Some parts of the face are a little bit to bright, but that's not really distracting or anything. I just wish it was detailed even there.

Excellent super sharp macro.....unique perspective makes the look mysterious...
glad you clarified that in your title...

I remember back in the 1970's, there were thousands of these Skipper Moths going from flower to flower. Now there are only a few. Your composition is absolutely flawless. I like how the focus goes off as the body goes into the distance. Beautiful eyes and face, and the colors are breathtaking.

A butterfly with a pretty face and huge eyes. I wonder how you could take such a close up shot without scaring the sweet thing off. Great macro

Very nicely done. Something to add to your toy collection might be a flash for the front of your lens for macro photos. Nevertheless, I like this shot very much the way you shot it. I can see how it would be hard to remove the "hot spots" without scaring off the butterfly. Nice catch.

Fantastic closeup! I like the composition here too, and I find the natural light works well here. A minor nit is that the antenna is a bit cropped off and slightly hot. Regards--Neil
