Autumn, I agree with your assessment of the light area in the upper left. When I first look at the photo I mentally climb the stairs. At the light triangle I am turned around and decend rather than being taken out of the picture. Then I begin to notice the details (tile, wall, etc). Good job!

thanks to all those who commented! i really appreciate it. i actually like the blowout in the corner, though i can see why it may be distracting. but i think its an interesting addition to the image.

Hi Autumn, striking photo you have here, love it, so simple, yet grasp ones attention and holds it, well seen and captured, you asked about the rays of light inthe Boys are Back Photo, when headeding out the door, I grabbed the vacume cleaner bad, and on site before each shot, would kick up,or spread dust in the air, anything that would linger and reflect light particals would work I guess.. glad you liked it, and thank you for the nice comments :)

I thought I was looking at something from Roger Hicks or Frances Schultz for a minute there. Yes, you might be famous one day!

This is a nice photo. As noted by others though, that blowout from the sun hurts this one as the rest is exposed very nicely! As a carpenter I like the mouldings in this one. You don't see much of that anymore unless you are doing restoration work.

Autumn,
I like it! But I also agree with Sue about the upper left. Maybe A different time of day would take care of that. That is if you live in that area. Great Job!

Neat detail, Autumn. I think a lot of people would pass this by as just a stairwell, but it's inviting to me. Too bad about the blowout at the upper left of the arch.
