Shot in early morning light with a polarizer and a 2-stop ND grad, on tripod. The light was changing so quickly I barely had enough time to set up. But I like fast changing light as it presents endless possibilities. And sometimes, wonderful spotlighting. Location: Herbert Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. Steve: Yes, more blue. I can't find a shot without any blue to post. =)
Outstanding perspective here. From the weeds in front....to the mountains...Great colors and the clarity is great. I could only imagine how fine the print looks if it looks this good on my monitor. Real nice work man!
I think the composition on this shot is outstanding, I like how the fg grasses and the cloud's dark shadow balance so I would not like to see a crop, beautiful reflections, lovely lighting. once again, "good stuff" Kenneth!
this, of course, is very beautiful! As you've already pointed out, the spot lighting is fantastic and really emphasizes the mountain well.
IMO, cropping the left would weaken the shoreline negatively and create a more static composition and makes the shoreline feel more centered. I really think this scene works well in a 2x3 aspect ratio.
The foreground grasses are a pleasant addition. The left side is somewhat weaker, would you consider cropping some of the left side off? Nice mist on the lake. I've got to start getting up earlier.
Another beautiful image Kenneth. Go get em tiger!! The only problem I see with this is that we have the editors choice (similar)image clearly in our minds. If we did not know that one, this would be another killer shot. I actually thought that I would prefer a wider view of that one. But after seeing this one, I really do like the close up better. Keep posting em up.
