About This was shot at about 3.00pm on a misty october afternoon. I felt that the almost perfect, neutral toned reflection of the sky and flooded fields made a nice backdrop for the high contrast pylon. I normally crop the gate out of the bottom of this shot but then I have to expalin why I cut the top of the refelcted pylon out of the frame! Its not badly composed, just the nearest I could get without disembling a fence!

Very well composed. I like your work. It's nice to be able to comment on a professional photographer. What I liked about this is just the slight amount of the red color in the entire photo. Of course I like the photo overall too!

You don't need to crop! ;-)
Ran a highpass filter over after having to resize to 600 pixels for this window. Brought out a little more definition in the clouds. Anyway, just a bit of playing around - really like the lighting and composition - a mix of industrial and natural that just seems to complement very well. I tend try to avoid things like pylons but this shows you can make them work for you. Nice one!
Thanks for your previous comments. I've been happy with the 10D but it (mine anyway) can get a little too noisy with increased time and ISO and I spend a fair bit of time in PS balancing things to maximise detail and tonal range. I do a fair few long exposures and often seem to be using the ND filter - miss the 50ISO from my old G1.

Very nice Andrew ... standing ankle deep in water on an October afternoon ... oh the things we do to get the shot.

If you crop out the bottom this would become a much stronger picture, cutting a bit of the reflection would be better than the way it is now.
