About Thanks for the thoughtful and perceptive critiques of "Managing My Midlife Crisis Badly." I had a hard time trying to decide whether to present this series of "time pieces" by going from abstract images to the more personal ones, or vise versa. As often happens, vice versa won. This image is a philosophical companion to "Managing." After this, they become a bit more upbeat. Comments always appreciated! --Jim

Excellent shot...very interesting indeed. For me this is a great surreal picture that "you" created. The most important thing is you have a remarkable artistic style that i can recognize your works from miles away. This is one of those strong shots. You're in top form here and reading the comments were also so much fun for me.Thanks...Regards,HakaN.

Very good! So original and artistic! Very interesting composition and beautiful colours! Makes me think of how time is ticking away so fast into a mix of future and history!

Jim, Another marvelous piece! I enjoy the clock dials here, with the wheels. Being a inactive licensed watchmaker I appreciate it. The time bomb portrait with the sky is very effective. Time..........How much do we have, how much are we suppose or expected to have! I don't believe that it is worth having a crisis over! In 1997 I layed in a hospital contemplating weather if it was my time to go or if I was just in a warning situation. After going through all of the bargining stages with God, begging for life, the cardiologists and surgens made my heart as good as new and sent me back into the game of life, with just a little better appreciation for it. We are here for a short visit, no need to fret, when we go........we go! Great work Jim!

the brilliance of the outer frame and the coolness of the inner frame contrast wonderfully and lend a strange surrealism to the sinister bomb...it will end - someday...

Excellent idea! Yes! Magnificent Jim!

A gilded frame but inside we see a fat bomb on its way down. The colors in the inset picture pale a little next to the vivid surroundings and that makes me wonder about what is central here. If your Mc is Irish, you may enjoy Ciaran Carson's musings on time in the context of traditional music in "Last night's fun". Seems like you are not about to run out of inspiration quite yet however... :-)

How depressing! They have to become more upbeat! :) For some reason this image and title make me think of the movie Scent of a Woman. I heard a quote once, but I'm not sure who said it, but it goes like this: "At this point the hands on my biological clock are giving me the finger."

And this would be serious art. Can't wait to see more.

This is missing a little mushroom cloud... ;-) After seeing this one, I've now decided to put my biological clock on "snooze" mode. Fun series, Jim. Keep the kooky clock compositions coming.

I really want to second what Anna K said, but all I can think of is "you are a sick bastard"!! Ok, ok, an enormously talented one, but a sick, depraved bastard nonetheless.
And for the record, I aspire to be as sick as you. I'm workin' on it man. I just don't know how to do this stuff. I take pictures of rust and dumb stuff like that.

This is exceptional...again. This series is magnificent. Once the viewer gets past the visual excitement of the image and begins to "see" what you are communicating, these images become extraordinarily relevant to anyone who is feeling the same things as you are. On second thought, forget the sick bastard comment.. I'm goin' with Anna K. She's right on the money.

Jim; you're right this one has a pretty heavy philosophical bent. It makes one look, think/wonder, then look some more. The clock faces, the radioactive blue, the bomb, the faceless person-- this is another powerful and disturbing work. It's also very nicely done. I'll be looking forward to the more positive works in this series.

Wow, Jim, Anna was certainly waxing lyrical ~ almost biblical! (c.f. Ecclesiastes 3 v's 1-8!!)
Another extraordinarily creative image ~ if only I had the time to sit and ponder the philosophical message behind it!!
Great work as ever!
Kind regards, Chris.

hmmm... Jim, you make me think a lot with this image...

Time has gone
time to regret
time we felt happy
time we better forget
time we have waited for
time we fear to come
time to love
time to forgive
time to laugh
time to say "I feel with you"
time to cry
time to dry our tears
time to start again

...and much more of it...

but what is the ONLY time we really should care of?
The moment we are living: right now!!
The only time that gives us the chance to feel happy...

...and you must agree with me, Jim:
we all have such a good time here in Use Film!!!

:-)))

oh! ...it?s time to say how much I like your picture!
